Alfred's Basic Prep Course, Levels A through F, was written to answer a demand for a course of piano study designed for students who are five years old and up. This course offers a careful introduction of fundamentals, music that fits comfortably under the young student's normal hand span, plus constant reinforcement--all leading to results beyond those generated by other piano methods. After Lesson Book D, the student may progress to Prep Course, Lesson Book E or choose to go directly into the faster paced Level 2 of Alfred's Basic Piano Library. The complete Prep Course consists of six books (Levels A through F).
Both are areas I had trouble before.. I found it wonderful for afternoon "quiet time" (ie: child is too old for naps but needs a little time to himself to settle down a bit and unwind).
The reason I docked it one star ( I debated about docking it more) is the goldfish who is "gay." As others have mentioned, that term is now more recognized for the slang meaning than the original one; it is strange that the publisher wouldn't update it. Then he later explained that he takes caffeine pills instead of drinking coffee so as to not stain his teeth. I think it will make a great series read. This isn't the sort of book you can pick up for twenty minutes a day, and then not read for four days, and then pick up again for another half hour. The way it explains the essentials leads to experts and non-experts to get into this field very quickly if also attending onto the cited references. She kills everyone. That alone makes the book seem very amateurish.. Paperback version omits detail
