The children love this book. Though he and his men participated in many of the Indian wars of the Southwest, Grierson continually sought a more intelligent and humane solution to the Indian "problem". I am planning to be a teacher and I plan to use this book in my classes.. All of Grierson's children appear to have suffered, in varying degrees, from the manic-depression that was prevalent among his wife's family, and two of his sons would have to be institutionalized.
Benjamin Grierson, himself, emerges from this work as a tragic figure. The story begins with June, a beautiful woman, down on her luck, whose sudden and accidental death has a profound effect on the lives of the people who knew her. In any event, he does have a great deal of knowledge about skin care, etc.. I would recommend this book to anyone who has been newly diagnosed, or to their friends and family.. The morale and cohesion of both groups completely and totally collapsed which rendered utterly futile any French
