Dr. Kirby Lentz is vice president of operations at the Chileda Institute, a residential facility for children and adolescents with developmental disabilities, including autism spectrum disorders, in La Crosse, Wisconsin. With a doctorate in educational leadership, Dr. Lentz has over 30 years experience in education and administration for persons with developmental disabilities, the last 18 with children with autism spectrum disorders. He has spoken to parents and professionals at local, state, and national conventions, and has experienced the other side of the table as a parent seeking the hopes and dreams of his own children.
The counter argument is that the dialogs cannot possibly be 'realistic' due to the level of the book. They want to see the "hero" survive the journey. Great for learning basic geology.. Also a magnificent and totally expressive quantity of period photographs. Neil Stannard has made the contention, in this and in his "Piano Technique Demystified (2nd Ed.)", that once a basic familiarity with scales and fingering is mastered, endless repetitive practice of them does little good. As the class is not part of a law school program, I think the book is excellent. This is a book any filmmaker should own, or at least any filmmaker who is actually making a movie. This approach works on 5-string banjo, and I am just a bit curious as to why Bullard chose to shift the hand in a slide over two frets.
