Christian Dior was born in Granville, Normandy, in 1905. He opened his own couture house in 1947, revolutionizing fashion with the “New Look.” He was made a Chevalier of the Legion of Honour in 1950 and died in 1957.
Can't wait for the next book in the Vanderhault Saga!. First (and this is the ironic bit) is that it's all in ‘first’ person perspective (ok, so mildly funny?) This in itself is not drastically bad, it's just that it isn't written overly well. Pages fall out easily. There is not a lot of new information in these narratives, but they are organized well, and provide concise and reasonably objective overviews of these historical incidents. In some respects, it is self-contained. The writing is very technical and it is easy to get confused and bored. I couldn't put it down, I know you will enjoy. I'm just an average runner and found this very inspiring.. Bradley blends a fascinating story with accurate research to give the reader a good picture of early Britain and the various political, cultural and religious factions, both local and Roman, which vied for power there.
